VRAIN researchers José Hernández-Orallo, Mª José Ramírez, Cèsar Ferri, Carlos Monserrat and Fernando Martínez-Plumed participate in the project «Assistance and logistics solutions for the Covid-19 based on data science» financed by the Valencian Agency of Innovation in the call for projects for the «Capacities of the Valencian Innovation System in the fight against the COVID-19»
The research consortium is formed by the Research Foundation of the University Hospital La Fe of the Valencian Community (coordinator and IP), the Valencian Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence (VRAIN), the Technological Institute of Informatics (ITI) and the University of Alicante.
The project proposes a system to carry out a protocol for patient control and geographical analysis of them. The system covers all states from the diagnosis of infection, identifying all risk factors during the evolution of the disease: severe cases, referrals to ICUs, risk factors of infection to health professionals, and others. The results are proposed as an application for interactive use in the healthcare context. The particularization of this proposal at a clinical level and at a care-logistic level can be transferred by adapting parameters to other fields, that is to say, the system developed is scalable implying a comparative advantage. The models, algorithms and protocols proposed are based on the analysis of data from La Fe’s Big Data system.
The financed budget amounts to 100,000.00 euros.
